About the artist

My name is Koty Crabtree. I’m a glass artist. I make a little bit of everything, but my main focus is jewelry, marbles, and sculpture.   I’m from Kalamazoo, Michigan;  however, I moved to Missouri when I was 18 to learn from the Capel family, a 3-generation family of American glass blowers specializing in borosilicate sculpture who were among some of the first to work with Disney.   Their eldest son, Christian, and I worked together many years by  demonstrating at craft shows, school events, malls, swap meets, music festivals, and anywhere else that would let us set up a torch. I also collaborated with his father, Marble Mark and many other artists on numerous occasions, most notably with Studio 29 in Missouri.  Eventually, I moved back home to Michigan, where I do my best to share my love of glass and what I’ve learned over these last 16 years creating, collaborating, and traveling.
